Pilot Video by Piero Messina, featuring Paolo Sorrentino
GIORGIO ARMANI RENEWS HIS BOND WITH CINEMA
Giorgio Armani announces Films of City Frames, a choral project that was created in collaboration with Rai Cinema, involving students from six prestigious international film schools. The students will be given the task to create short auteur films that represent the moments of life; that describe a city’s perspectives; that seize emotions and situations by using Frames of Life collection glasses as a perceptual filter.
Glasses, therefore, as a reflection of a point of view: instruments that are capable of accentuating and expressing feelings, revealing encounters and urban adventures. Paolo Sorrentino, the Oscar winning director, has enthusiastically joined this initiative in support of young talented people. In making the pilot film that launched the project, Sorrentino chose Piero Messina, a young director, who made an exciting and lyrical short film using unpublished material of ‘La Grande Bellezza’. Films of City Frames is therefore going to be a visual and narrative collage that captures, without seizing, the never-ending wealth of the contemporary metropolis, using individual points of view as a filter and foundation.
